Tender Loving Care Advice for Dischidia nummularia in hanging pot :

Dischidia nummularia is an epiphytic climbing plant that belongs to the genus Dischidia. A native of Singapore, also commonly known as Pebble Beach and Button Orchid - a misnomer as it is not at all an orchid.

This plant has wiry stems adorned with tiny opposite lens shaped leaves. Its flowers are small and often not significant. Being epiphytic in nature, this plant grows best in moist and porous substrates. Nowadays, they are cultivated in wound round pieces of driftwood or in hanging baskets with coconut husk chunks. The plant is non-toxic to human and pets.

Growing Conditions

Light: It prefers medium to strong filtered light in well ventilated areas.

Water: Regular misting prefers. Plants are susceptible to root rot, avoid over watering and the use of high moisture retention substrate.

Soil: It prefers porous, breathable substrates such as coconut fibers (in chunks), fern twigs, loose barks etc.

Fertilizer: Apply fertilizer once every two to three months with diluted strength of balanced fertilizer.

Pests & diseases: Relatively pest resistance. The only possible common pests that bug dischidia plants include spider mites, aphids and mealy bugs. If possible, identify the infestation as early as possible and treat it with the least toxic option.

This Ayoba Biltong has an OK flavour, but the black pepper is excessive. About 20% of the shavings are rancid, which means that every 5 shaving pinch you put in your mouth is practically guaranteed to have a rancid flake. The rancid flakes are bitter. acrid and foul, and this nastiness completely overpowers the biltong flavour, even the excess black pepper taste. I believe the rancidness comes from the white bits of fat attached to the meat, but who wants to sort and clean these biltong bits? DO NOT BUY!!!! FYI - I grew up in Swaziland and Botswana, and ate pounds and pounds of biltong. I even made Biltong while deep in the Okavango Delta.
