Dimensions: 21 inches shoulder to shoulder.

Condition: Good condition considering its age and use.

Plains Indian bead work is a highly evolved art form, with the greatest connoisseurs being Indian people themselves. Although traditional bead work artists did not create with a brush and palette, their creations truly are a fine art.

Almost all Plains tribes used beads that they made from animal bones, teeth, or shells. Glass beads, however, which often came from Venice, Italy, began to reach the Plains in the early 1800's. Brought by traders who rode ponies, these so-called pony beads were fairly big, upwards of one-eighth inch in size. Limited to only a few colors (primarily white, blue, black, and red), pony beads tended to inspire large, bulky designs. Seed beads—much smaller and available in a broader palette—appeared in the late 1840's and soon became easily obtainable.

Because smaller beads allowed patterns to become more detailed and refined, different bead work styles began to take shape. Three tribes—the Blackfeet, Lakota, and Crow—developed distinctive stitching techniques, colors, and patterns. Neighboring groups were usually influenced by at least one of these styles. Traditional bead work reached a peak around 1890, but many contemporary Indian artists continue to work in the medium, keeping the art form very much alive. Good looking shoe.
Size: 9 Wide, Color: Cognac
It's a good looking should which is true to size. Quality is good. However, it is not leather. Inner and outer covering are man made. For me, it's okay. I ordered a 9W which I knew would be no more than a triple E width. I'm actually a quadruple E width so it's taking a little longer to break in. I won't be using these as often as at this stage of my life, I don't have that have functions that require dressier shoes. I'm happy with this purchase, a good value for the price. The slip in feature works well like my Sketcher slip in.

Great price great shoe
Size: 12, Color: Burgundy Polished Full Grain
Excellent shoe. Tried the Sebago penny loafer and the sizing was ridiculous. These J and M are sized perfectly. I’ve had them before and they wear like iron. Very comfortable right out of the box.
